I ranted briefly on the phenomena of Qanon, and was asked to put this content here (on Medium) so my rant would be easier to share.

To begin, a meme:

Qanon stinks of a psyop, designed to keep a certain demographic engaged in trying to solve a puzzle that’s being made up on the fly

It’s like that one TV show from a decade ago (Lost); the show where an island traveled through time

The plot was filthy with holes, and it was later revealed that the writers were making things up as they went, and knew that the plot was a mess

Nonetheless, tens of millions of people followed the show like it was a religion

Which I imagine helped that slice of the population remain obedient in their role as consumers, buying what’s sold to them by high-paying advertisers

Because that’s why entertainment exists, right? To place novel and compelling content before eyeballs, so the media can sell advertising

I don’t know, man. People are so easy to manipulate, it’s a trip

I hate to use the phraseology “deep state,” but we all know that the DOD funds a vast and completely unaccountable intelligence infrastructure whose operations maintain a state of operational continuity across elected administrations

And we know that this same DOD literally “lost” 21 trillion dollars

It’s acknowledged that the intelligence community has increasingly influenced the Department of Defense, so it doesn’t take much imagination to assume the CIA had something to do with the “loss” of $21,000,000,000 USD

And what are they doing with that money? What if they decided now is a time to “fund” a reality TV show, so to speak?

This Qanon thing is likely just the intelligence apparatus spinning some reality TV nonsense to a demographic predisposed to entertaining wild and absurdly illogical conspiracies

And to their credit, they can’t be faulted for trying to get their hands on a needle of order within the growing haystack of chaos that’s come to characterize life in the year 2020, even if it is just illusion

Into this deep well of bullshit the CIA recently dumped a bunch of their nonsense research into psychic phenomena, and I’m pretty sure a vast number of the loyal Qanon crew are eating it up, trying to figure out how to travel on the astral plane to a UFO shaped like a donut

People are weird, man. I don’t understand escapism at all

Imagine knowing that the US is facing a massive point of inflection, possible extinction, and choosing to disengage from reality just as it’s becoming obvious that these same intelligence agencies have helped run child sex networks on behalf of the super wealthy?

What a time to be alive!

Anyhoo, let this be my final post on the wild wild world of 2020
